PAFTE Leadership Advocates for Progressive Educational Reforms at the 2023 Philippine Education Conference.

In a significant gathering of educational professionals, the national board, officers, advisers of the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) headed by its President, Dr. Felina P. Espique of St. Louis University, attended the 2023 Philippine Education Conference. This prestigious event as organized by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) led by the Executive Director, Rhodora Angela F. Ferrer, brought together educators from across the country to discuss the latest trends, challenges, reforms, and innovations in the field of education. Embracing the theme "Inspiring Reforms that Transform Philippine Education," the 2023 Philippine Education Conference held at the SMX Convention Center from December 6-7, 2023 in Manila, Philippines, emerged as a significant event for educators nationwide, fostering dialogue on innovative educational reforms. PAFTE's involvement and partnership with PEAC and the 2023 Philippine Education Conference underscored their dedication to educational advancement in the post-pandemic era. The conference kicked off with an opening ceremony that set a forward-thinking tone, followed by sessions led by academic experts like Dr. Ma. Cynthia Rose B. Bautista of the University of the Philippines, Dr. Allan B.I. Bernardo of the De La Salle University, and Dr. Dina Ocampo of the University of the Philippines, who offered insights on significant educational reform initiatives. One of the highlights of the conference was the panel discussion on “Shaping the Future of Education in the Philippines,” where PAFTE officers continue to uphold their commitment on policy formulation, teacher empowerment, and student-centered learning approaches. The second day was highlighted with parallel sessions that included Dr. Filomena T. Dayagbil of Cebu Normal University and one of the advisers of PAFTE to talk on Pre-service Teachers and the Scholarship of Practice, and moderated by the Executive Director of PAFTE, Dr. Milagros L. Borabo. The conference also provided an opportunity for educators to network, collaborate, and share best practices. The PAFTE delegation, consisting of educators from various regions of the Philippines, actively engaged in these activities, fostering connections that would benefit the educational community nationwide. PAFTE's participation in the conference not only demonstrated their commitment to educational excellence but also solidified their role as a driving force in the quest for educational reform. Their engagement at the conference was a testament to their role as educational leaders, poised to implement transformative changes for the benefit of Filipino learners nationwide.
